WMC GROUP
FOUNDERS’ STORY
A founder film about trust, growth and a complex industry in transition – shot in Colorado, London and Amsterdam.
For WMC Group’s ten-year anniversary, I directed a founder story that looks at how the company was built from the inside out.
WMC operates in critical raw materials, with a strong focus on uranium within the nuclear fuel cycle. The challenge was not simply to explain the business, but to translate a highly specialised and technical field into a story people could follow and connect with.
The film is built around the founders’ own voices: how the company started, the long period before the first deal, and the role trust played in its growth. Visually, the approach stays close to the people behind the company — combining interviews with a fly-on-the-wall, unscripted style and carefully selected supporting footage, filmed across Colorado, London and Amsterdam. The result is a film that keeps the subject clear, while staying grounded and human.
The project was developed for a focused, client-facing context, where clarity and tone were as important as content. Rather than broad communication, the emphasis was on strengthening existing relationships within a specialised, trust-driven industry.
The response was very positive, both internally and from clients. As WMC’s Communications Manager, Alexandra Gummesson, noted, the documentary-style direction added a lot to the final film, describing me as a creative and supportive partner throughout the process.
I’m currently collaborating with WMC on a new project.
